BEP Marine 716 Square Battery Distribution Cluster

Description

The BEP Marine 716 Square Battery Distribution Cluster is designed for single-engine boats using two battery banks and provides an automatic replacement for a traditional battery selector switch. In many existing installations, the old selector switch can be removed and the existing battery cables connected directly to the 716 cluster, avoiding the need to add extra charging wires.

The cluster automatically manages charging between the starting and secondary battery banks so the start battery is protected from being flattened by domestic loads. It is intended for single-outboard dual-bank systems or single-alternator inboard installations with two battery banks. By isolating and combining the batteries automatically, the system removes much of the manual switching normally required with a selector switch.

The 716 also helps isolate sensitive electronics from harmful engine-start voltage spikes and can replace older diode-type battery isolator arrangements without introducing the voltage drop associated with those systems.
