Description

The BEP Marine 714 Dual Bank Battery Distribution Cluster is designed for single-engine boats that use two battery banks and need an automatically maintained reserve battery. The cluster incorporates BEP’s dual-sensing voltage-sensitive relay so charging can be directed to the isolated battery while preserving the operator’s selected primary bank.

When the selector is in position one, battery one becomes the sensing battery and remains the primary bank. Once charging voltage is present, the voltage-sensitive relay connects battery two so it can also receive charge. When the selector is moved to position two, the roles reverse: battery two becomes the sensing bank and battery one is charged through the relay.

This arrangement means one battery can remain isolated as a reserve while still being automatically recharged whenever the engine is running. The design provides a meaningful safety benefit for boats that depend on reliable starting power because the reserve bank is not simply left disconnected and forgotten. By combining switching and automatic charging logic into one distribution cluster, the 714 simplifies management of a two-bank single-engine battery system.
