BEP Marine 710-140A Digital Voltage Sensing Relay

Description

The BEP Marine 710-140A Digital Voltage Sensing Relay allows a second battery bank to be charged automatically from a single alternator or battery charger while protecting the starting bank from house loads. When voltage on the primary charged bank rises to the appropriate level, the relay connects the second bank so it can receive charge. When charging stops and system voltage falls, the relay separates the banks again.

This automatic combining strategy lets the engine-start battery receive priority before the auxiliary bank is connected. It also keeps domestic loads from flattening the starting battery and isolates sensitive electronics from starter-motor surges. Unlike diode isolators, the DVSR does not introduce the same charging-voltage drop and can be installed without altering the alternator wiring beyond a simple three-wire connection.

Digital circuitry provides low power consumption and automatically selects between 12V and 24V operation. An optional remote-sensing connection to the ignition switch can further reduce standby draw when the engine is off, and a remote status LED output is available.
