BEP Marine 400A Double Pole Battery Switch

Description

The BEP Marine Pro Installer 400A Double Pole Battery Switch is designed to isolate both the positive and negative sides of a battery circuit at the same time. Full two-pole isolation is useful on metal-hulled vessels, specialized DC systems, and installations where separating both conductors improves service safety or helps control stray-current corrosion.

The switch can be mounted on the surface, behind a panel, or through the front of a panel, giving installers flexibility during new construction and refits. Optimized cable access and the standard Pro Installer footprint help the unit fit into compact high-current battery-distribution layouts. The simple On/Off operation makes the switch suitable as a main isolation point rather than a battery-bank selector.

BEP rates the switch for demanding continuous, intermittent, and engine-cranking loads across 12V to 48V systems. Four heavy-duty studs provide the separate input and output connections for both poles. BEP notes that a double-pole switch should not normally disconnect both house and engine-start systems together if doing so would remove power from essential communications equipment during an emergency.
