BEP Marine 275A Emergency Parallel Switch

Description

The BEP Marine 275A Emergency Parallel Switch provides remotely activated high-current battery combining for emergency engine starting. It is designed for boats with two same-voltage battery banks where a temporary parallel connection may be needed if the normal starting battery does not have enough reserve to crank the engine.

A momentary dash-mounted control activates the parallel function for ten minutes, allowing the second bank to assist the starting system without requiring the operator to enter the battery compartment. After ten minutes, the switch automatically turns off, reducing the risk that the banks will be accidentally left connected long enough to flatten the reserve battery. Unlike BEP’s voltage-sensitive models, this version is dedicated to emergency parallel operation and does not automatically combine the banks for charging.

The switch supports matched 12V or 24V battery banks and includes a manual override for direct local control. Tinned copper conductors, stainless steel nuts, high-temperature fiber-reinforced plastics, ignition-protected construction, and recessed or surface mounting are intended for harsh marine environments.
