Balmar Serpentine Pulley Kit for Perkins 4107, 4108

Description

The Balmar AltMount Serpentine Pulley Conversion Kit is designed for Perkins/Sabre 4107 and 4108 diesel engines being upgraded to a K6 six-groove serpentine alternator drive. Converting from a conventional V-belt arrangement can provide better belt grip and greater power-transfer capability, which becomes increasingly important as alternator output and charging load increase.

The kit includes three six-groove K6 pulleys so the engine’s drive components can be converted as a matched system. Two 40-inch-circumference K6 serpentine belts are included, giving the installer one operating belt and one spare to keep aboard for service or future replacement.

Mounting hardware is also included, reducing the need to source conversion fasteners separately. Because pulley alignment, groove count, and belt circumference directly affect alternator performance and belt life, using an engine-specific conversion kit can simplify a high-output charging upgrade compared with adapting universal pulleys.

An installation using an AT-200A alternator may require a longer belt than the standard 40-inch length supplied.
