Description

The Balmar XT Series 170A Spindle Mount Alternator provides high-output 12V charging with an internal regulator for engines using a 1-inch Motorola-style or 2-inch Delco-style single-foot mounting arrangement. The internally regulated design can simplify installations that do not require a separate external regulator while still delivering substantially greater charging capacity than many stock marine alternators.

The alternator is equipped with a K6 serpentine pulley and uses case grounding. Its 1-inch mounting configuration is typical of Westerbeke, Lehman, Hino, and Pathfinder engines. The 2-inch Delco-style configuration is commonly found on Volvo Penta gas and diesel engines, John Deere, Perkins, MerCruiser, Pleasurecraft, Crusader, Indmar, Marine Power, and other GM-based marine engines.

With a 170-amp output rating, the XT Series can support faster recovery of larger battery banks and vessels carrying substantial loads from refrigeration, electronics, pumps, lighting, and inverters.
