Description

The Balmar 120A Spindle Mount Alternator Kit is a complete 12V charging-system upgrade for engines using 1-inch Motorola-style or 2-inch Delco-style single-foot mounting. The package combines a 621-120-DV alternator, MC-618 external regulator, temperature sensors, and mounting hardware so owners can upgrade alternator output and charging control at the same time.

The 621-120-DV alternator is rated for 120 amps and uses a dual deep-V pulley with isolated grounding. The 1-inch spindle configuration is typical of Westerbeke, Lehman, Hino, and Pathfinder engines. The 2-inch mounting option covers a broad range of Volvo Penta gas and diesel engines, John Deere, Perkins, MerCruiser, Pleasurecraft, Crusader, Indmar, Marine Power, and other GM-based marine engines.

The MC-618 regulator provides advanced external control of charging output rather than relying on a basic fixed internal regulator. Temperature sensors are included so the charging system can account for operating temperature and protect the alternator and battery system during sustained high-output operation.

Mounting hardware completes the installation package, making this a more comprehensive upgrade than buying the alternator alone. The kit replaces 621-VUP-MC-120-SR-KIT. For boats using single-foot alternator mounting and conventional dual-V belt drive, this Balmar package provides 120A charging capacity with external regulation and temperature monitoring.
