Description

The Balmar 100A Spindle Mount Alternator Kit combines a high-output 12V alternator, MC-618 external regulator, temperature sensors, and mounting hardware for engines using a single-foot spindle mount. The 621-100-J10 alternator accommodates both 1-inch Motorola-style and 2-inch Delco-style mounting arrangements, giving the kit broad compatibility across many marine engine families.

The 1-inch configuration is typical of Westerbeke, Lehman, Hino, and Pathfinder engines. The 2-inch Delco-style mount is commonly found on Volvo Penta gas and diesel engines, John Deere, Perkins, MerCruiser, Pleasurecraft, Crusader, Indmar, Marine Power, and other GM-based marine engines.

The alternator is rated for 100 amps, uses isolated grounding, and is fitted with a J10 AltMount serpentine pulley. The multi-groove pulley is intended for compatible serpentine drive systems that can transmit the additional mechanical load created by higher charging output.

The MC-618 regulator provides external charge control, while the included temperature sensors help the charging system respond to operating temperature during long charging cycles. Mounting hardware is also included. The package replaces 621-VUP-MC-100-SR-KIT.
