ARCO Zeus 24V Alternator Voltage Spike Shield

Description

The ARCO Zeus Alternator Shield 24V protects high-output alternators against damaging voltage spikes created by sudden battery disconnects and load-dump events. This is especially important in lithium battery systems, where a BMS can disconnect the bank instantly if cell voltage, temperature, or another safety limit is exceeded. Accidental battery-switch interruption can produce the same type of electrical event.

An alternator that is heavily loaded can generate a sharp voltage surge if the battery is removed from the circuit without warning. That surge can destroy rectifier diodes or stress other charging-system electronics. The Zeus Alternator Shield clamps the excess voltage and diverts it safely to ground before it can reach damaging levels.

The shield installs directly at the alternator terminals and includes an LED indicator for immediate health-status confirmation. Its design is intended for modern high-amperage charging systems, including lithium installations where the charging source must tolerate possible BMS disconnects.

The 24V model has been tested to the ISO 16750-2 load-dump standard. ARCO reports up to 75% more survivable disconnect events than the leading competing product under its test conditions.
