Description

The Mastervolt SCM60 MPPT-MB is a high-capacity solar charge controller designed for medium and large marine solar systems. It supports substantial solar arrays and automatically works with 12V, 24V, or 48V battery banks, making it a flexible choice for vessels with higher energy demands. Mastervolt’s MPPT technology is designed to harvest more available solar energy and can charge batteries significantly faster than conventional PWM regulation under comparable panel conditions.

The controller works with traditional 36- and 72-cell panels as well as common 60-cell solar panels. Its high allowable PV input voltage lets installers connect panels in series, which can reduce cable length, installation complexity, and electrical loss. Pre-programmed charging profiles support multiple battery types, including Mastervolt lithium-ion batteries, and a battery temperature sensor helps optimize charging as battery temperature changes.

Integrated MasterBus communication allows the SCM60 to become part of a connected Mastervolt energy system for monitoring, control, and automation. The large display is designed for straightforward local operation, while the fanless design supports quiet onboard use. Protection covers overload, high or low battery voltage, overheating, short circuits, and reverse polarity. The rugged housing is protected against water spray for use in humid marine environments.
